Corona wastewater tests give hospitals warning

Vienna. In the normal-care sector, the number of occupied beds is expected to range from 854 to 1,379 across Austria in two weeks on March 1, with a mean of 1,085 beds. On Tuesday, 914 infected people had to be treated in hospital standard care units. Within a week, the number had increased by 27 percent or 192 patients. In intensive care units, there were 42 severely ill patients; here, between 33 and 67 patients are expected to be treated in two weeks; the mean is 47 severely ill patients.
Lack of awareness of Corona’s problematic
“The last few days, we’ve had increased covid-19 admissions again. The increase was expected and will probably only be a small wave,” Arschang Valipour, head of the Department of Internal Medicine and Pneumology at the Floridsdorf Clinic and head of the Karl Landsteiner Institute for Lung Research and Pneumatological Oncology, also wrote on Twitter Wednesday. However, the lack of awareness of Corona is problematic, he said. Many patients are baffled because Covid-19 “no longer exists,” the pulmonary specialist stated.
